The Wednesbury Branch

Wednesbury is a town in the centre of England in an area known as the Black Country. This was because of the industry which developed in the area as part of the industrial revolution.

As the industrial revolution developed many people migrated from the rural areas of England to the industrial areas where there was work and money.

The Maynard family lived in Alveston, a small village near to Stratford on Avon.

Edward Maynard moved his family from Alveston to Wednesbury around 1899/1900.
